South Holland: Police Search For Collision Victim's Family
Police in south Lincolnshire are searching for the relatives on a pedestrian who died on the A16 after being in collision with an Audi A4.
Police are also appealing for witnesses after the pedestrian died when he was hit by the car on the A16 at Cowbit last night (Saturday 28th December).
The collision happened just before 7.30pm and involved a blue Audi A4 driven by a 32 year-old man from Peterborough.
Police are still trying to trace the relatives of the victim, a man in his early twenties.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone who was in the area of the A16 at Cowbit just before 1930 yesterday evening (Saturday 28th December) and saw either the blue Audi or the pedestrian before the collision is asked to contact police on 101 quoting this incident number 310 of 28th December.
The road was closed until the early hours of this morning (Sunday 29th) whilst police carried out their initial investigation.
Independent police investigators say officers, who had spoken to a drunk driver in Stamford minutes before he died, were not to blame for his death.
South Lincolnshire farms have been hit hard by rural crime this year, with more than £2million worth of damage done since January.
