Pictures: The Queen In Stamford

Queen Elizabeth II was cheered by thousands of people on her visit to Stamford.

Her Majesty attended a garden party at Burghley House in Stamford before a visit to the town as part of her Jubilee Tour.

See the photos here.

The Queen had arrived by helicopter on the grounds of Burghley House and was joined by 8000 people for a picnic.

After lunch and a fly-past by the Red Arrows, she travelled in her Bentley for a parade through the streets of Stamford. Her route included Red Lion Square, St Paul's Street and St George's Square.

Prince Philip was not present while he recovered from a bladder infection.
