Stamford: Race For Life

31 May 2013, 06:00

Around 3,000 women will take part in the Race for Life in Stamford on Sunday.

The annual event is to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

There are 5k and 10k courses, starting from the historic Burghley House in Stamford.

Both events begin at 11am.

Last year, around 2,500 women took part in the race in Stamford.

Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK.

Every year it brings thousands of women together to help beat cancer by running, walking or dancing in 5k and 10k Races across the whole of the country.

Race for Life has made a huge impact on the work of Cancer Research UK.

Every pound raised in sponsorship helps them continue their life-saving work.

Here on Heart, we're delighted to be supporting Race for Life for another year.

Cancer Research UK funds research into many aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK.

The charity works to prevent the disease and diagnose it as early as possible, when it can be.

The Peterborough Race For Life will be held at Ferry Meadows on Tuesday 9th July at 7:30pm.

The Cambridge Race For Life will be held on Sunday 21st July at 11am.
