Thornhaugh: Man Critical After A47 Crash

17 February 2014, 12:51

A woman has been arrested after a man was left in a critical condition in a crash on the A47.

Cambridgeshire Police say a BMW 318 left the road at Thornhaugh close to its junction with Old Oundle Road at 3.20pm yesterday.

The driver of the car, a 39-year-old woman from Leicester, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been bailed until May 6.

The other occupants of the vehicle, two girls aged 11 and seven, suffered slight injuries and were taken to Peterborough City Hospital.

PC Theron Pearman, investigating, said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or the vehicle prior to leaving the road, to call police."

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Roads Policing Unit on 101.
