Wisbech: Ambulance Crash

An investigation has started after an ambulance on an emergency call was involved in a crash with a van near Wisbech.

It happened on the A47 between Wisbech and March around 6am this morning (Monday).

The ambulance was on an emergency call and taking a patient to Peterborough City Hospital at the time.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Another ambulance was dispatched immediately to convey the patient who remained stable throughout.

Both members of the ambulance crew suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn and Peterborough City Hospital. 

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn with leg injuries."
