Police are looking for a driver who drove straight at a man in Wisbech, leaving him with serious injuries.

It happened in Boyces Road in Wisbech just before 7pm yesterday.

A 31 year old man, the victim, was outside a house with another man when the vehicle, described only as a four by four, headed towards them.

One man managed to get out of the way of the oncoming car, but the other was hit.

The car then drove  off towards Money Bank.

The victim was then taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

Police don't know how many people were in the vehicle, but say it could have been more than one.

The incident is being treated as attempted murder.

Detective Inspector Mike Branston said: "Thankfully, the victim is in a stable condition in hospital but his injuries could have easily been even more serious.

"I would appeal for anyone who saw this collision take place or saw a vehicle leaving the area at speed to contact police."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DI Branston on 0345 456 456 4, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
