Young Sportsperson - Cornwood U13's
With 2012 just a few years away it is even more important to encourage all our young sports people.
This award therefore recognises a young person or team (under 21's) who have achieved significant sporting accolades in the amateur field.
They must demonstrate that against all the odds tirelessly they work to improve their performance or have benefited others through their endeavours.
The winner ... Cornwood Dels U13 Cricket Team
This team have competed in the U13 Palladium Cricket league for 2 years.This season with regular twice weekly training they have become a fantastic unit.
They have just won the U13 League playing 11 and winning 11 games, they have also won the Palladium U13 cup. The Double has not been done for a long time. However the most important thing is that they have built such a strong comradeship on and off the field, with a lot of the lads I am sure being friends for life.

Vicky Smith
Vicky is part of the English International table tennis squad and has been working hard all year at her sport. She recently won the Cadet Six Nations and also received bronze at the Sainsbury's UK School Games in the Individual event.
