The photo's show the terrifying moment a shop assistant was ordered to open the till by a masked robber.

It happened at Morice Town stores in Charlotte street on Saturday evening, the gunman burst into the shop brandishing a handgun and shouted at the shop worker to 'open the till'.

A customer walked into the store and the gunman pointed the weapon at them before making off with more than £400.

DI John Ardron gives a description of the man their searching for:

Witnesses remember seeing the man before the attack loitering outside the shop and trying to mingle with people dressed up for Halloween. He ran off in the direction of Keyham Road and was also spotted along Albert Road.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have spotted the man especially bus or taxi drivers who may have noticed someone wanting a lift who was out of breath.

DI John Ardron reassures the public

He was wearing a full-face mask and a black jacket with a hood, black gloves with a right Nike tick, he's described as a white male more than 6ft tall and of slim build.
