Runnin' (Lose It All) Naughty Boy feat. Beyonce & Arrow Benjam
We're experimenting with the newest winter beauty trends. Here's how to wear the coolest looks this season...
Wearing bright makeup doesn't have to make you feel like a child who's been let loose in their mum's makeup bag – embrace bold brights (like you did in the 80s) and step out of your safety zone. Whether it's rocking a radical neon eye-shadow or pillar-box-red lipstick, the 80s makeup revival is about taking risks. Just keep the colour to one area (so either eyes or lips) to avoid the 'my kids did my makeup today' look.
Better start practising your flutter, because long lashes are back in a big way this A/W. Forget subtle bare lashes, think long full and glamorous this party season. Take note from Kim Kardashian by going for a full set of lash individual eyelash extensions which will bring your eyes to life and make them pop. Our friends over at Sorbet are the perfect pit stop to get ready for party season with a wide selection of styles from their Lash Perfect range. The treatments are from £40 for a half set so it's worth the trip this Christmas!
Sorbet salons can be found in London and nationwide.
If money's tight, and you're looking for a more economical option, then these fab mascaras will do just the trick!
It's an oldie but it's a goodie. Yep, red lipstick feels exciting and sexy again this winter. The last few seasons have seen 'the original sexy' red pouts replaced with nude lip-balms and glosses – but bold red lips are back. Choose a matte lipstick for red colour that won't budge.
It's all about the Peacock peepers this A/W – so show off your eyes by dusting green and blue hues over your lids. To perfect the new coloured smokey eye, go green (and blue) by smudging the two tones together. Pack on an intense metallic colour eyeshadow in blue to the outer corner corner of the eye, then an aquatic green blue to the inner corner to really work the grunge look.
Leave the contouring kit at home (yes, really) and think warm peach and rose blushes this A/W. As seen on Kate Spade and Michael Kors' catwalks, heavy flushed blush (as if you've just got back from a brisk, wintry walk) is the new way to carve out those cheekbones. Brush a powder blush over the apples or your cheeks and a little bit on either side of your hairline for that classic wintry flush in a matter of seconds.
As seen on the Versace runway, metallic makeup is back this winter. Switch up the classic smoky eye this season by replacing your grey shadow with a metallic silver one to create a shimmery, edgy effect. Or go gold and blend a small amount of glittery gold eyeliner or yellow eyeshadow into the inner corners of your eyes to make them really sparkle.
