Heart's Jason Donovan is promising smoky, sultry and a bit of Hollywood in this weekend's foxtrot during week two of Strictly Come Dancing.
Jason is top of the leaderboard after scoring 32 out of 40 for his cha-cha-cha. One celebrity will leave the show this weekend with Nancy Dell'Olio currently bottom with 12 and Lulu and Robbie Savage on 17.
But Jason admits the foxtrot is a tougher proposition, "I think the foxtrot is like a wave, the thing with the cha-cha-cha it was probably my personality, quite bright, up, fast, you can’t really think about the nerves when you’re moving that quick but the waltz, the foxtrot, those sort of dances are far more concentrated."
So what can we expect? Nancy was told by the judges to leave the props at home for now but Jason and partner Kristina Rihanoff looks to set offer us something spectacular, "It’s going to be quite difficult but we’ve practiced hard and there's a character that we’ve got in play with this particular track and dance and it’s quite smooth, a little sultry, quite Hollywood, a little glamorous, there’s a top hat but I don’t want to give too much away.
"My main thoughts are just to keep calm and carry on. Every dance is different, foxtrot is a lot slower than the cha-cha-cha, it needs to be controlled, it needs to be smooth but the one thing that is keeping me in check is the character that I’m going to play. You saw a bit of Jason Donovan last week and I'm going to try and change that and twist it. A bit smoky, a bit sultry, a bit Hollywood, not too many smiles and a bit of a smirk, a bit of a smooth criminal, think Bugsy Malone.
"It should be ok, anything can happen in 1 minute and 30 seconds on live television on a Saturday night, and it probably will.”
