I've got a new toy!

Got a new toy in the kitchen.....a sandwich toaster!!

Haven't used one since university, when we lived on cheese and tomato toasties! Well i say that, we actually experimented with the strangest combos.

Like peanut butter and banana, or ham and honey. Students!! Anyway, saw one in the shop yesterday, when i was actually only going in to buy an ice tray for the freezer, and thought i'd get it. Half price sale on this particular model. There is definitely a unique smell you get when you switch those things on. The metal plates heating up.

Thought I'd break it in with a ham and cheese sarnie. Cooked it for 3 minutes, but then couldn't prize the sandwich out of the toaster. What's the one thing you always do when you cook one of these.....butter the bread on the OUTSIDE!! I remember my mum telling me off for not doing it when i was a kid. Well, i still forget. Buttered it on the inside, and it stuck to the toaster.

Great start! Think this toaster could end up in that cupboard we all have at home which houses kitchen gadgets you use once then put away and never sue again. It'll have to stay in there with the juicer and the electric whisk!

And just quickly, must say hello and well done to Sarah Rowley and everyone at Asthma UK's Big Sing Song team.

Did a brilliant job yesterday getting people to do karaoke to raise awareness of Asthma, on World Asthma Day. It's all about putting Asthma In The Limelight, and being a sufferer myself am delighted to be supporting it.
