If you go down into town this summer you're sure of a BIG surprise! The BIG Stampede is taking over Hamilton and South Lanarkshire and lining the streets with some of our favourite safari animals!
You'll see 30 large safari animals across the town up until the end of August. The decorated animals, all designed by local and national artists and sponsored by businesses, community groups, schools and individuals will take pride of place on the streets before being auctioned off to raise funds for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
The BIG Stampede will be joined by The LITTLE Stampede, made up of 70 mini hippo sculptures, designed by local nurseries, school children and teachers. The mini hippos will form the schools and nursery trail of the stampede and you'll be able to spot them alongside all the safari animals.
Make sure you look out for the ‘Snooper Trooper’ mechanical elephant, an ‘Out of the Loch’ giraffe, the Sekhmet lion inspired by ancient Egypt, Albert III the striking gorilla and Thomas the giraffe, inspired by Scotland's iconic Tunnock's Teacake!
So what are you waiting for? Download your trail map and take on the BIG Stampede, as not only is it loads of fun, it's also helping to raise awareness and valuable funds for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
