2 Men And A Woman Die In Aberdeen Disturbance
A young mother has described how she heard screaming and a female shouting for help at a block of flats where three people died following a disturbance.
Forensic officers are examining the scene at Donside Court in the Tillydrone area of Aberdeen as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two men and a woman.
Officers were called to the 19-storey block at around 8.15pm on Tuesday but are not looking for anyone in connection with what they described as a "contained incident''.
Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating reports that a person fell from the tower block, where a blue forensic tent remained close to the main entrance on Wednesday morning.
Toni Dey, 19, who lives in nearby Gordon's Mills Road, said she heard screaming from the block.
The mother-of-two told the Press Association: "I heard some girl screaming 'Help me, help me', then about 10 minutes after I heard loads of screaming and shouting.
"I didn't call the police as I thought it was kids messing around, then I heard loads of police.
"I can't remember exactly what time I heard it all. I had messaged my mum on Facebook saying there was a lot of screaming but couldn't see what had happened.
"It was awful to hear all that, then actually hear what had happened.
"It's very scary to think that something like that had happened. All I kept thinking was 'Why was that poor girl shouting help me?', and about a two-minute walk out my back door.
"I just moved in here in May and it's been so quiet. I was shocked to hear anything as I never normally do.''
No police officers were injured in the incident.
Local councillor Martin Greig said: "There will be families grieving profoundly at this terrible news. Our sympathies are with those who have lost loved ones.
"The local community and the city will share feelings of shock at this violent incident.
"It is reassuring that the police, the council and other organisations are doing their best to help in dealing with this awful incident.''
Detective Superintendent Dave McLaren, from Police Scotland's major investigation team, said: "At this time the investigation is in its very early stages. However, the circumstances as they present at this time would indicate that this is a contained incident and we are not looking for any other person in relation to the deaths.
"Further information will be released in due course.''
