Arrest After Alleged East Renfrewshire Hit And Run

A 78-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident which left a cyclist injured.

The cyclist was hit by a car and thrown from his bike in Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire, on Monday.

The 36-year-old was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride where he was said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Police said a 78-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with alleged road traffic offences.
