A man has been left with a serious head injury after an attack in Glasgow city centre last month.
Two men came across him lying injured on Hope Street near the junction with Argyle Street at around 4.30am on Friday February 19.
They called an ambulance and the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
He returned to the hospital at a later date and after further examination he was diagnosed with a fractured skull.
The incident was reported to Police Scotland on Thursday this week.
Detective Constable Stephen Palmer said: ''A man has been left with a very serious head injury as a result of this attack and inquiries are at an early stage to establish what happened.
''I would like to speak to anyone with information about this incident, particularly the two people who called an ambulance for the victim.
