Attempted Murder Probe Launched As Man Found Injured In Paisley Flat

An attack on a man who was found with serious head injuries in a Paisley flat is being treated as attempted murder.

Emergency services treated a 48-year-old man after being called out at 7.50am on Monday to a flat in Auchentorlie Quadrant in the Renfrewshire town.

The victim was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University hospital, where staff described his condition as ''critical''.

Detective Inspector Tom Carty, of Paisley CID, said: ''We are currently treating this incident as attempted murder as the injuries sustained are very serious and consistent of an assault having taken place.

''Our enquiries so far have revealed that there was some sort of disturbance within the flat either on Sunday or during the night into Monday morning.

''I am keen to speak to anyone who has heard a disturbance or seen people coming or going in Auchentorlie Quadrant to contact police immediately.''
