Crews Tackle Fire At Listed Building In Glasgow

21 May 2016, 08:17

Firefighters have spent the night tackling a large blaze close to the Riverside Museum in Glasgow.

Flames could be seen bursting through the roof of Scotway House in Castlebank Street near the River Clyde from about 9pm on Friday.

Crews were called to the scene but there are no reports of injuries or anyone missing in the derelict building.

Built in 1885 for ship building firm D&W Henderson, the B-listed building has been empty for around 20 years.

Since the doors were closed it has been considered for a pub and restaurant development, a music venue and student flats.
