Experts from as far afield as Australia, Canada, Denmark and Sweden are in Scotland for an international summit on female offending.
The event in Edinburgh is being undertaken to develop a radical new approach to the way Scotland deals with female offenders.
Experts from leading countries praised for the approaches they are taking will be meeting with Scotland's own experts and working together to develop recommendations for Scotland to consider.
Earlier this year, the Justice Secretary Michael Matheson announced that he wants to take a bold, progressive and more ambitious approach in Scotland.
The aim of the event is to look beyond our own shores to what works best internationally and learn from what they are doing.
