Investigation After Woman Sexually Assaulted In Dunfermline

A woman has been sexually assaulted in an early morning attack in Fife.

The assault happened in Dunfermline near the junction of Nethertown Broad Street and Moodie Street early on Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police in Fife are investigating a serious sexual assault which happened during the early hours on Sunday August 6 in the Nethertown Broad Street/Moodie Street area of Dunfermline. Officers are providing specialist support to the female victim."

She said inquiries are at an early stage and asked anyone with information to call the force on 101 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
