Jamie Murray Teases Andy After US Open Win
Jamie Murray has continued his family's tennis success by equalling brother Andy's record of three grand slam wins.
The older Murray brother jokingly said "get it up you, Andy!'' as he celebrated winning the US Open doubles title with Brazilian partner Bruno Soares.
The victory over Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in New York secured the second major title the pair have won this year and adds to Jamie's 2007 Wimbledon mixed doubles win.
Andy, who has won Wimbledon and the Olympic title this summer, was knocked out of the US Open by Kei Nishikori at the quarter final stage.
Speaking on court after his win, Jamie said: ''I'm starting to move out of the shadows a little bit.
''There's a long way to go. Andy's had a great year - he did three grand slam finals, winning Wimbledon was huge and Olympic gold.
''He couldn't win this but I did so, yeah, get it up you, Andy!''
Jamie has previously said he considered retiring after a poor run of results in 2012 but has returned to the top of the sport.
He said: ''It's a great feeling.
"These tournaments are the hardest ones to win, all the best teams are playing.
''The last couple of years I found a way to win, to play my best tennis at these events.
''I've got a great partner in Bruno who makes a lot of returns which is good for me up at the net and long may it continue.''
Scotland's First Minister and tennis fan, Nicola Sturgeon, offered her congratulations on Twitter.
She wrote: "Another Murray grand slam title! Congratulations @jamie_murray & @BrunoSoares82 #USOpen.''
