Man, 28, Charged With Dunfermline Murder

A man has appeared in court charged with the the murder of Duncan Banks in Dunfermline more than four months ago.

The body of the 39-year-old was found at a property in the Fife town's Skye Road in September.

The family of Mr Banks made an appeal for information following his death, describing him as a ''beloved son and a much-loved brother and uncle.''

Police launched a major investigation and an arrest was made on Wednesday.

Steven Thomson, 28, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with murder and theft.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody ahead of a further expected appearance next week, the Crown Office said.
