An arrest has been made over the alleged murder of a man almost three weeks ago.

John McCallum, 49, was discovered seriously injured in his property in Meldrum Street, Whitecrook, Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, at about 9.30pm on December 18.

He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow's Western Infirmary where he died two days later.

Police launched a murder investigation after a post-mortem examination was held.

A 21-year-old man has now been arrested and detained over the death.

A report is to be sent to the procurator fiscal and the man is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
