Police call-handling performance has continued to improve over the past year, a new report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) has found.
Man Critical & Boy (6) Hurt In Hit & Run
A man's fighting for his life and a young boy's been hurt by a hit and run driver in Rutherglen.
They were knocked down by a Volkswagen Golf private hire taxi outside Glencairn Social Club on Glasgow Road around 12:15am on Sunday.
The 31 year old man and 6 year old boy were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The man's said to be in a life threatening condition while the boy is stable.
A 60 year old male taxi driver failed to stop at the time of the incident.
Police have since traced him.
Sergeant Craig McDonald from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: "Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened.
"Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101."
