Man Dies In Crash Near Strathaven

A man has died in a car crash in Lanarkshire.

The 74-year-old was driving a silver Mazda Tribute which was involved in a collision with another car near Strathaven on Sunday afternoon.

He died at the scene of the accident at the crossroads of the B743 and Roman Road at around 1.30pm.

The 32-year-old man driving the other car, a black Vauxhall Antara, sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

He was kept in hospital overnight and has since been released.

Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact police on 101.
