Man Faces Culpable Homicide Charge
A man has appeared in court after the death of a man in a residential street.
Brian Cogan, 43, died following an incident in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, at about 7.20pm on Friday.
Thomas McPhee, from Hamilton, was charged with culpable homicide when he appeared in private on petition at the town's sheriff court, the Crown Office said.
The 35-year-old, who also faced a drugs charge, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination and he is expected to appear in court again within eight days.
