Man's Body Found On Edinburgh Street
Police have appealed for information after the body of a man was found in an Edinburgh street.
The Scottish Ambulance Service contacted officers after the man was found lying in Leamington Terrace, near its junction with Bruntsfield Place, at around 5:35am.
The death is being treated as unexplained.
Officers want to trace a couple who are understood to have tried to help the man.
Police Scotland Detective Inspector Alan O'Brien said: ''Our inquiry is at an early stage and we are currently working to establish the man's identity.
''However, I encourage anyone who may have noticed or spoken to this man and can provide potentially vital information on his movements to please contact police immediately.
''In particular, we understand that a couple had attempted to help the deceased male and I appeal to them to come forward as soon as possible.''
There will be extra body search, ticket checks and bag restrictions.
Army personnel will be stationed at 12 military and civil nuclear sites in Scotland.
Police say the shopkeeper has been left badly shaken.
