Police in South Lanarkshire are treating the death of a man found seriously injured in a street as suspicious.
The 27-year-old was found in Fernslea Avenue, Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, at around 2.30am today.
He was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital but died a short time after he was admitted.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out and police are treating the death as suspicious.
They appealed for anyone who might have seen a disturbance in the area or has other information to contact them.
Detective Inspector Mark Bell of Police Scotland's Major Investigation Teams said: "We are trying to establish the circumstances prior to the 27-year-old man being found injured.
"I'd like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Fernslea Avenue prior to 0230 hours this morning and may have witnessed a disturbance there.''
