Minibus Driver Dies In Lorry Crash

A driver has died in a head-on crash with a lorry.

The accident happened in Sanderling Road, Paisley, close to Glasgow Airport, at around 11.30am yesterday.

A 58-year-old man was driving a white Ford Transit minibus west along the road when it collided with a white HGV that was travelling east.

The Transit driver sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later, police said.

The 39-year-old driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

A report on the death is to be sent to the procurator fiscal while officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Any witnesses to the collision have been asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number.
