Police Name Road Accident Victim

Police have named a man who died after being struck as he crossed the road.

Ronald Longwill, 54, was hit by a car on Love Street in Paisley, Renfrewshire, on Saturday night.

The 24-year-old driver of the Vauxhall Astra was not injured in the collision just after 9pm.

Police have appealed for witnesses.

Sergeant Mark Miller said: "I would ask anyone who was in the area of Love Street at around 9pm on Saturday and saw the crash to come forward. Any person with information is asked to telephone road policing at Paisley on the non-emergency number 101.''
