Prince Charles's Car 'In Collision With Deer' At Balmoral

15 September 2016, 10:08

The Prince of Wales's car has been involved in a collision with a deer at the Queen's Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, according to reports.

Charles - the Duke of Rothesay, as he is known while in Scotland - is said to be unhurt following the incident over the weekend.

The Audi he was driving was reportedly damaged in the incident. The condition of the deer is unknown.

A spokesman for Clarence House refused to comment on the crash.

Reports that a specialist mechanic attended the scene have not been confirmed by Clarence House.

It is understood Charles was on a break from official royal duties at the time.

The incident comes at a time of year when the royals traditionally visit the area and carry out a number of public engagements.

Last week, Charles addressed a gathering in East Ayrshire promoting wool products in response to low prices paid to British farmers.

Olympic star Max Whitlock showed off his gymnastic talents in a woollen suit for the prince and fashion industry figures, spinning on a table wearing a woollen suit designed by Sir Paul Smith.

Earlier this month the Queen made her annual appearance at the Braemar Highland Games with the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Princess Royal.

Anne was treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary last week for a ``bad chest infection'' and cancelled her public engagements this week as she recovers at Balmoral.
