Rangers 'Disgusted' As Team Bus Vandalised

Rangers have said they are "disgusted and disappointed'' after their team bus was vandalised in Aberdeen.

Graffiti referring to the 1971 Ibrox disaster and former player Ian Durrant was reportedly scratched into the coach paintwork outside a hotel in the early hours of Sunday, ahead of the league clash at Pittodrie.

The Glasgow side said they immediately referred the matter to police.

A Rangers spokesman said: "We are disgusted and disappointed by this act of vandalism.

"In particular, the reference to the Ibrox disaster in which 66 people lost their lives was particularly vile.

"This sort of behaviour has no place in civilised society.

"The incident was immediately reported to Police Scotland and we will assist them with their enquiries.''

The game ended with home side Aberdeen scoring a late goal to claim a 2-1 victory.

Referring to the bus incident after the match, Rangers boss Mark Warburton told Sky he was "very sad that it should happen (and) very disappointed''.

Police Scotland said they had been "made aware of reports of vandalism in the Deeside area of Aberdeen in the early hours of Sunday''.

A spokeswoman added: "Enquiries into the matter are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers.''
