Lorraine Kelly is to receive a special award honouring her 30-year television career at this year's Baftas.

Bafta Scotland announced that the presenter will attend the awards on Sunday to collect a trophy for her "outstanding contribution'' to the industry.

Dundee-based Kelly anchors ITV's morning show Lorraine, which began as Lorraine Live on GMTV in 1994.

She said: "It was a lovely and totally unexpected surprise to be told I was to receive such a prestigious award. I'm delighted and looking forward to a terrific evening. I feel very blessed and would like to thank Bafta Scotland for such an incredible honour.''

Outstanding contribution awards will also go to Tommy Gormley, a Hollywood first assistant director whose credits include the much-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII, and Alex Graham, whose production company Wall-to-Wall is behind several hit programmes including Who Do You Think You Are?.

James McAvoy and Peter Mullan are among the screen stars nominated for the 2014 Bafta Scotland awards, which will be hosted by Hazel Irvine at Glasgow's Radisson Blu Hotel on Sunday evening.

Bafta Scotland director Jude MacLaverty said: "We are extremely proud to be celebrating the work of such prestigious names in the television, film and broadcasting industries.

"Lorraine Kelly, Alex Graham and Tommy Gormley are leaders in their fields and we are honoured to present these outstanding contribution awards to them.

"Along with the high calibre of nominees, this year's British Academy Scotland Awards are gearing up to be our biggest and best yet.''
