Teenager Badly Hurt In Lorry Crash

A teenage driver is in a serious condition in hospital after his car crashed with a lorry.

The accident happened in Gilmerton road, Edinburgh, at around 11.50pm yesterday.

Police said a silver Renault Clio collided with an HGV.

A 19-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he remains in a serious condition.

Sergeant Neil Inglis said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or the vehicles shortly beforehand, to get in touch as soon as possible.

"Anyone who can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.''
