Woman Killed In East Lothian Crash
A young woman has died following a crash between a car and a pick-up truck.
The 26-year-old was driving her Kia Cerato on the A1 near Dunbar in East Lothian when it was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit pick-up.
The 54-year-old male driver of the pick-up was taken to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police appealed for information about the crash, which happened on the northbound carriageway of the road at about 7.50am on Friday.
Sergeant Gary Taylor, of the divisional road policing unit based in Livingston, West Lothian, said: "Sadly, a young woman has lost her life as a result of this collision and our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time.
"I'd urge anyone who was travelling in the area and who witnessed this incident or the movements of either vehicle prior to the collision to contact police immediately if not already done so.''
