Woman Tripped Up At Edinburgh's Waverley Station
A woman has been treated in hospital after she was deliberately tripped by another woman at the top of an escalator at Edinburgh's Waverley train station.
CCTV images show the 45-year-old being tripped by a younger woman as she entered from Princes Street at the Waverley Steps, British Transport Police (BTP) said.
She then fell and was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she was treated overnight for cuts to her head and face following the incident at about 10.30pm last Friday.
Detective Constable Paul Farquhar, the BTP officer in charge of the inquiry, said: ``I understand that the young woman responsible laughed as she made off from the station entrance and a man, who is believed to have been in her company, apologised for her actions to the injured woman.
"Anyone who was in the area or has information regarding the younger woman, who acted extremely foolishly and recklessly, is urged to contact BTP as soon as possible.''
Detectives say she was subjected to the common assault on Wednesday.
She's warning other families of the warning signs displayed by coercive and controlling partners
The figures were highlighted by Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale during First Minister's Questions.
