Women To Hold Protest Against Recent Sex Attacks

Hundreds of women are expected to protest against a recent sex attack and rape in a small West Dunbartonshire town.

The 'Reclaim the Night' event will take place in Alexandria next week as the search for a rapist continues.

Police started a major investigation after a 16-year-old girl was raped in a "shocking attack" in Balloch on September 11.

A 49-year-old woman was also indecently assaulted as she walked her dog by the River Leven in Alexandria less than a month ago.

Women's rights campaigner Lynda McEwan is organising the event.

She has told our reporter Connor Gillies it is being held to show the attackers that women and girls won't be scared to walk the streets.
