Adele matches George Michael record

Adele has achieved the longest US number one album since 2000 after '21' returned to the top spot.

It's now 12 weeks at the top of the chart for the star. Now the last time 12 weeks at the top was achieved was Santana's Supernatural in late 1999 and early 2000.

Back in 1988 George Michael enjoyed 12 weeks at No 1 stateside with his debut solo album 'Faith'

Adele's 21 has never been outside the top three since it went to No 1 24 weeks ago and has sold around 3 million copies in the US.
