Adele's next album may not come out 'for years'

The star is currently not working towards a release date for the follow-up to 2011's '21'

Adele's record label has warned that fans may have to wait a while for the singer's follow-up to her sophomore album.

The star's hit record, which was released at the start of 2011, won multiple Grammy Awards and helped her record label XL welcome a 400% revenue increase last year.

But a spokesperson for the label has said it may be some time before Adele releases the follow-up.

"The next Adele album may not come for some years, and it's impossible to predict its likely sales," the company said in a statement to the New York Times.

The star, who is currently expecting her first baby, also said earlier this year that she had no release schedule for her third album.
