Adele achieved unprecedented success with her sophomore album 21 last year. She is seen as the ideal candidate to kick off proceedings at the Grammys next month, having been nominated for a whopping six awards, including album of the year.
The ‘Rolling in the Deep’ star has kept a low profile in recent months after undergoing emergency surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal cord in November. She was forced to cancel several tour dates and to take a break from singing.
‘Adele will be at the Grammys in Los Angeles on February 12,’ a source reportedly revealed. ‘She’s thrilled to be nominated, but it’s been a hard time for her because of the surgery. She’s begun talking more, with her doctor’s permission.’
Last week, the 23-year old singer broke the record for the longest-reigning solo album in history, as 21 hit the no. 1 spot for its nineteenth non-consecutive week.
