Adele using voice generation

The 'Rolling in the Deep' star is using a smart phone app to talk for her while she rests her voice.

The 23-year-old recently underwent throat surgery to repair a haemorrhage on her vocal chords and to help her recovery she's using a voice generator to talk for her.

Doctors have advised the 'Someone Like You' singer to rest her voice as much as possible, with the risk of permanent damage should she strain it too soon after surgery.

Adele is now typing what she wants to say into her smartphone which reads it back in a computer generated voice much like you would hear on an automated phone line.

A source told The Sun:
"She's been using the speaking app to buy coffee at Starbucks and to order cabs.

It is far easier to communicate using it rather than writing everything down on paper and showing people."

Adele is currently across the pond, continuing her recovery from surgery in Boston, U.S.A.
