Adele working on follow up to '21'

The star has started recording songs for her third album

Fans are however facing a lengthy delay in hearing any new material as the pregnant singer wants to concentrate on family life and spend some time away from the media spotlight.

"Adele loves performing but she doesn't feel comfortable being such a high-profile celebrity" a source told the Daily Star. "It all got a bit much for her last year and she wants to take a bit of time out of the fame game to be a normal mum."

They added: "The last thing she wants is for her kid to become a celebrity baby or media commodity.

"Being a good mum is a lot more important to her than selling records and she's made it clear her priorities have changed now she's pregnant."

Work has already started on her new studio album and the follow up to the global sensation '21' with the star working alongside 'Someone Like You' composer Dan Wilson.

"We've exchanged a couple of emails about the next album" said Wilson "I am concentrating on writing as many songs as I can for her. I am building some tracks."

Adele is reportedly due to give birth to her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki in September.
