George Michael's "best Christmas"

Singer is allowed home after recovering from pneumonia

George Michael, who has to cut short his Symphonica Tour after falling ill with pneumonia, has spent Christmas at home in London.

The singer took to his Twitter account yesterday to share his joy with his fans.

"Best Christmas I can remember, surrounded by the people I love. And knowing that Xmas could have been very different this year for everyone at that table..." wrote the singer.

"As it was we stuffed and laughed ourselves silly" posted again Michael, clearly elated to be surrounded by his loved ones "I'm such a lucky man! I hope you all had a great one. It's not over, of course, I have a house full of sleeping guests and a bunch more friends coming over today".

George also admitted that the severity of his illness was greater than it was revealed to the press.
"I'd say it was touch and go for a few weeks" explained the singer  "And I played it down, I didn't want to worry my fans too much ".

He however showed that despite this difficult time he'd not lost his sense of humour, writing: "I'm back and I'm proud, though not very loud...... (which, I assure you, will be temporary!".
