George Michael's 'wedding song'

George Michael has recorded a version of a Stevie Wonder song as a wedding gift to Prince William and Kate Middleton.

He's made a cover of the 1972 track 'You And I'. It is free to download - and George is encouraging fans to make a donation to the royal couple's charitable fund. George told Piers Morgan's CNN show that Wonder has also waived the rights to the song until "way after the wedding".

Michael has not been invited to the wedding but insists he's not angling for an invite. He told his Twitter followers, He added: "I want Will and Kate to know that this a genuine gift, not a promo exercise. "I want Will and Kate to know that this a genuine gift, not a promo exercise." He added, "the couple should be with "people they love, not dodgy ex-con pop stars".

He also told Piers, "I am absolutely sure Diana would have loved the whole thing. I really hope she would have loved this track.

"I have a feeling she would have done."
