Katy Perry's tribute to Freddie Mercury

Katy sings happy birthday to the Queen star and also recently dressed up as her idol to raise money for the late star's charity.

Monday 5th September would have been the Queen frontman's 65th birthday and hoards of fans are expected to attend a London hotel dressed up as the late star to help raise money for his charity.

His former band mates Brain May and Roger Taylor will be in attendance and now Katy Perry has joined the party too.

Katy, who has long stated that Freddie was the major influence on her career, recently wore a moustache, a bright yellow jacket and a cropped wig and to promote the Freddie For A Day campaign, which is raising money for the Aids charity the Mercury Phoenix Trust.

Mercury was a top-class showman but sadly died from Aids-related pneumonia in 1991, at the age of 45.
