It was announced last year that Alejandro would be the follow-up single to 'Telephone' - quite an act to follow...

And follow it she has with a superb music video which is as bizarre as we've come to expect from Gaga.

Directed by Steven Klein, the video contains a strong military theme and is reportedly a representation of the purity of Gaga's relationships with the gay friends in her life. 

It begins with an impressive dance routine, followed by Gaga leading a funeral procession, whilst carrying a sacred heart. When the lyrics begin she is sat on a throne, smoking pipe in-hand, with an elaborate crown and binocular eye-pieces whilst overlooking her dancers.

This is not the end of the madness as things get even more bizarre...
