Madonna glitters in gold at Super Bowl

Madonna performed to her biggest global TV audience since 1985's Live Aid last night, when she performed the Half Time show at the NFL 46th Superbowl.

The Super Bowl is routinely viewed by over 100 million people - the biggest TV event of the year. 500 technicians had 7 minutes to prepare the stage for her 12 minute show, with an audience of 111 million viewers in the USA alone.

The singer channeled ancient Egypt, sitting on a throne in front of a golden pharaoh burial mask as she opened on her 1990 classic Vogue, before tearing through no1 single Music.

LMFAO joined the 53-year-old for special versions of their smash hits Sexy and I Know It and Party Rock Anthem, before Madge launched into new single Give Me All Your Luvin with the help of cheerleaders Nicki Minaj and MIA.

The pair donned Erickson Beamon headpieces and gold pom-poms as Madonna demonstrated once again why many call her the Queen of Pop.
