US Singer Whitney Houston Dies Aged 48
US Singer Whitney Houston has died aged 48.
The 'I Will Always Love You' singer's death was confirmed by her publicist Kristen Foster.
In a press conference LAPD confirmed that an emergency call was made at 3.40pm with ambulance services arriving to the Beverley Hilton Hotel within two minutes. The singer was pronounced dead at 3.55pm.
Houston was staying in the hotel to attend a pre-show party for this year's Grammy Awards.
Police confirmed there were no signs of criminal intent and that a full investigation was underway.
The singer sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos throughout her career.
