Kate’s dress up for prize

The dress Kate Middleton wore to her wedding with Prince William last year has been nominated for the Design of the Year award.

The dress, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, received widespread praise after millions watched the ceremony on television last spring.

The Duchess’ dress has almost ninety other designs to compete with for the gong, which is organised by the Design Museum in London. Other nominees include a pop-up cinema beneath a motorway and the Olympic Torch.

The winner will be announced at the Design Museum on April 24th 2012.
