Our 90's pop dreams have come TRUE! With the news that these Aussie queens have teamed up once again.
Having dominated the charts in the 90's and early noughties with their smash hits, good looks and colourful stage performances, Dannii Minogue and Tina Arena have teamed up once more for some dance anthem magic!
Using Tina's ballad classic 'Sorrento Moon' the Aussie music queens have given it some Dannii flavour, delivering an on-trend, synth accompanied, tropical tinged hit. The perfect comeback for the hitmakers.
The collaboration comes as part of Tina Arena's very recent 2-disc release of her greatest hits and interpretations which also features artists like Jessica Mauboy, Jimmy Barnes and The Veronicas.
The comeback marks the first collaboration that the 'Chains' diva and the 'This Is It' singer have made together since the 1980's! With Dannii describing the reunion as 'emotional'.
“This is my dad’s favourite of Tina’s songs, and it’s her parents favourite too."
“This is the first time we’ve reunited vocally since the early 1980s.”
But previous chart success doesn't stop the pop princesses from getting a little nervous.
Dannii explained "I was nervous in the studio — how do you reinterpret something that is already perfect??? It was an emotional process, recording this track, and now it’s something we’ll have forever.”
Well the fans certainly seem to be loving the new song with one fan labelling it 'Song of the year'!
Listen to the full track below.
I picked Sorrento Moon to cover as a duet with @TinaArena as it's my dad's favourite of Tina's songs, and her Mum and Dad's favourite too. I was nervous in the studio - how do you reinterpret something that is already perfect??? It was an emotional process, recording this track, and now it's something we'll have forever. Tina's double album Greatest Hits & Interpretations is out April 7 and available to pre-order now at tinaarena.com #greatesthits #interpretations @mozabeats
