Is 'Bridget Jones's Baby' All It's Cracked Up To Be? The Reviews Are In!
Bridget Jones's Baby Official Trailer #1 (2016) - Renée Zellweger Movie HD
Everyone's favourite singleton is back for another installment of the iconic rom-com and it turns out Bridget Jones is not so single anymore!
We've been gearing up for this moment for a long time now: Bridget Jones is back. Single and in her 40s, Bridget finds out that she's pregnant, only there's one problem... She's not sure who the father is. Could is be the charming Mark Darcy or the hunky Jack Quwant? At least she knows the baby is going to be beautiful...
We were excited when it was revealed that Colin Firth would return to play Mr Darcy but a little disappointed when it was announced that Hugh Grant's character Daniel Cleaver would not be in the film. Nevertheless, our spirits were lifted when we heard that the dishy Grey's Anatomy star, Patrick Dempsy, would play Bridg's (Renée Zellweger) new love interest.
Now, the premiere is over and the first screenings have been watched and the verdicts are in... And the overall feeling is that it's a film of nostalgia and will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Check them out yourself!
"This is, on the whole, a worthy completion of the trilogy –assuming it is to stay a trilogy, and that we are not likely to assemble again one day for Bridget Jones’s Dentures." - Daily Mail
"It's a comeback you root for, then, even while it’s wobbling and occasionally falling in the mud. But goodwill gets it home." - The Telegraph
"The only blue soup in this delightful confection is a too-neat, traditional ending that doesn’t feel brave or modern enough for Miss Jones and her flouting of her mother’s expectations." - Games Radar
"You have to have a heart of coal not to laugh (a lot), cry (a bit) and leave wanting to see it all over again." - EMPIRE
"Should the filmmakers attempt to service fond memories or opt to update with modern dilemmas? “Bridget Jones’s Baby” aims to do both, resulting in something of an identity crisis — encapsulated neatly in the contrasts of a jukebox soundtrack that lurches from karaoke classics of the sort featured in the first film..." - Variety
"BJB is as familiar as your favourite slippers but a lot funnier and a lot less smelly. It won’t be the last we see of her." - The Sun
Will you be going to see it? We know we are!
